The French company Bayer Santé Familiale represents Bayer Consumer Care, the family health international division (OTC) of the Bayer group, and develops, produces and markets products for the treatment and prevention of current complaints and for maintaining health and well-being.


The stated vocation of Bayer Santé Familiale is to put brands that combine effectiveness, tolerance, safety and ease of use at everybody's disposal to meet daily health needs.

At the heart of Bayer's healthcare division, Bayer Santé Familiale offers a complete range of medication that includes both brands that are intended for self-medication (Rennie®, Aspro®, Laroscorbine®, Supradyne®, etc.) and usual prescription specialities (Euphytose®, Transipeg®, GynHydralin®, Biseptine®, Berocca®, Bepanthen®, etc.). A pharmacist is able to provide advice on the entire range. Promotional activity is done via a network of medical representatives and by a sales force visiting chemists.

In 2003, the turnover of Bayer Santé Familiale was 191.7 million euros. More than 75 million euros have been invested over the last 7 years to improve development and production equipment, as well as for the creation and refurbishment of industrial equipment.

Bayer Santé Familiale employs 723 people spread over four sites, 625 of which are at the Gaillard establishment. Over the last seven years, the number of Bayer Santé Familiale employees has increased by almost 60%.
